Movin' Out!!!!

Well, I went to see the play with my mum on Saturday. It was possibly one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It's not a very long play (something the Arts Center tried to make you forget by having a twenty minute intermission....I mean seriously...), but you don't feel cheated of time at all. In fact, it felt like it was a pretty long play to me. It is not really a traditional musical. The characters are all on stage, but they do not sing. In fact, I think I remember hearing about three spoken lines in the play at all. The story is told entirely through dance accompanied by the band (suspended above the stage, which is a really awesome effect). The "Piano Man" in the performance had an amazing voice, and sounded very similar to Billy Joel. I learned a few new songs and developed a love for some songs I had not previously liked. Overall, a wonderful experience.

School is Eating my Brain

Well...that's pretty much the theme these days. Too much stuff to do and no time to knit. I get to read a lot in class, but I don't think I'm allowed to knit at school. To bad. The good news is we don't have school Monday, so I shall be spending that day resting and possibly knitting. The other good news is that on Saturday mum and I are going to go see Movin' Out! I love Billy Joel, so this should be great! Can you tell I'm excited? Haha...I hope everyone has a lovely week!

Finally!

I have half of a finished object! Technically it is actually a finished object, but it is the first of the Oak Ribbed Socks, and therefore only counts as half. But I finished one of the socks. I have to say, if I can get the pair done in the next few months I'll be doing great. I haven't actually finished a whole pair of socks in a year yet. I have two pair, but one of those pair was finished really sporadically and took actually more than a year after I got the yarn. Oops. The scarf is still making minimal progress, though I am almost halfway through the second section of seven. Yay! I will try to post pictures when I can, though with homework and stuff the way it is that may be later rather than sooner. I hope everyone is having a lovely year!

Ha ha.

Wow. So the whole Project 365 thing? Totally not happening. I am too ridiculously busy, so my camera mostly sits in a pocket in my purse. Why in the world I thought I would take pictures is beyond me. I have never taken pictures....

Knitting progress is minimal. My sock is getting the most work, since when I actually do knit all I want is something fairly simple and mindless. Hence, the scarf with 400+ stitches does not really qualify in my mind. It will be finished, I am determined, but I don't know exactly when. In my non-existant free time, I'm sure. School is thoroughly kicking my ass. I hate AP classes. Not really, they get me out of college classes. But still...

Project 365 Week 1/Blogstalking!

Pics in order from L to R: New Years Eve, Birthday Hat progress before I finished it, my Blogstalking post of the week (my worst habit), my usual knitting space (now my bed, which I will take a pic of for this week), the lovely armwarmers I knit over the break, a new book bought with one of the gift cards I got for Christmas, part of my book collection, and my amazing shoes that I got for my birthday last year.
Yay! Finally the blog has pictures! I'm going to update my Ravelry pictures now!

Back to School

Well, school's back in session.

Last semester, yay! Then college finally. I have Computer Apps I this semester, and it will be pretty easy but still fun. That's always good. I have been good about knitting every day so far. New Years Resolutions are still going strong! I'm planning on posting my Project 365 pics for the week tomorrow. I meant to do so today, but have to get mum to upload my pics for me. Blogstalking picture will be in there as well hopefully.

The Problem With FO's

Well, I finished the Birthday Hat, and I was all set to focus on Henry for the next lifetime or too...and then I saw my pattern from midnightknitter. And remembered the skein of Paton's SWS (Soy Wool Stripes) that I bought specifically for fingerless mittens...

The end result being finishing the first one last night at 2:00 am when I knew I had to wake up at 7:45 and go to church this morning...and then I finished the second one this afternoon accompanied by Lime & Violet on the ipod. They dont match stripes, but they do fulfill the obsession with blues, browns, and other 'earthy' colours that I have been going through...

Henry will hopefully get some more attention soon, but since school starts back tomorrow blog posting and knitting may take a beating...we'll see.
